Getting healthy and building fitness habits is not easy for working women. We are trying to balance work and family, so fitness habits tend to be nonexistent. I think fitness is an ongoing journey for business women.
As a business woman seeking fitness habits, you have to find something you enjoy- something that keeps you coming back for more. And you must build movement as a focus that becomes a way for life.
Here are 4 Ways business women can make fitness a habit:
Develop 10 Minute Workouts
We lead very busy lives, and at times an hour work-out just doesn’t fit our schedule. You can develop small 10-minute work-outs that you can do over a course of a day. You can do a total body workout, core workout, bands, walk or run for just 10 minutes over the course of the day.
Join A Fitness Challenge
Fitness challenges can spark motivation. I love the challenges that engage you by changing up your workout routine. Some examples are the 30 Day Fitness Challenge; 30 Day Plank Challenge; or even a 30 Day Cardio Challenge.
Focus On 30 Minute Workouts
The traditional thought is you should do an hour workout in the gym. But, you can achieve a lot in 30 minutes in your own home. Harvard studies share the health benefits of a 30 minute workout are vital. Moderate cardio and strength for 30 minutes is recommended.
Find A Workout You Enjoy
I get it! The gym is not for everyone. I will be honest and say, that is not my favorite place to be either. But find a workout that is best for you. There is so much to choose from! Boxing, rowing, spinning, kettlebells, pilates, yoga, running, and so much more! Try new things and see what is your favorite.
You cannot go wrong by adding movement in your day. The body was made to move. If you have only a few minutes to spare, move.
Many business women are pulled in many directions; therefore, fitness has not become a habit. I encourage you to begin to focus on your fitness and movement, by finding something you enjoy and just doing it!
