How Do Women Overcome Challenging Times?
Many women are facing challenging times. As we are in an unprecedented time of a virus plaguing our nation and world, women are not quite sure how to navigate it.
Some of us are without work and uncertain of how we will pay our bills. Mothers are struggling to homeschool our kids. Business owners are uncertain how we can pay our employees. Healthcare workers and other essential workers are facing fear of exposure to a disease. Celebrations of religious holidays, graduations, and weddings are on hold, leaving us disconnected with our loved ones.
And on and on.
During challenging and uncertain times, women need to have a solid foundation.
A foundation of faith in the spirit and faith in ourselves.
Without truly knowing who you are, you are left lost, broken and unsure of your future.
I want to share with you, this is not the first time I have faced difficulties in my life and career.
I lost my father to a tragic car accident six weeks before my wedding. Saddened to my core, my family had to determine how we were going to get through it.
Losing a business to a disastrous flood, my business partner and I had to decide how we were going to pick ourselves up and move on.
This time, reminds me of these low times in my life.
In my past, I did not have a foundation. I did not know who I was internally or have a connection to my Why. So, I struggled to face the day. I became saddened and even depressed.
This is why I have such a passion to share this with you.
Many years ago, I created a unique concept, and it changed my life. The concept provided me clarity in a way I never experienced before. This concept helped me to realize, what I needed to do to move my life in a positive course:
I could no longer focus on what I needed to do.
I could no longer focus on how I needed to do it.
But my focus had to start with WHY I needed to do it.
I want to tell you, you are not intentionally failing. This is not what you desire. But, you can control how you are going to react to it. I want to invite you to take this time of uncertainty, and step into a life you design.Step in to a concept handing you clarity and control of the results in your life. Step in to a process I call- “Creating Your Three Word Why.”
I’ve outlined a few questions to help start your foundation to Creating Your Three Word Why. I encourage you to take the time to sit back, reflect and answer these questions.
- Reflect on 3 life-changing experiences. What gift did you receive from each experience?
- What are your values? Write 3 values you are passionate about.
- Think about the legacy you want to leave. What characteristics do you want to be remembered for displaying?
- Reflect on what you wrote in 1-3 and reflect on your passions.
Choose three action words (verbs) that excite you and represent how you want to make a difference in the world.
